The Agency has made a strategic manoeuvre that will see it expand its sales force and get a foothold in the lucrative eastern seaboard real estate market.

Perth-based real estate and financial services group Ausnet Financial Services (Ausnet), which trades as The Agency, has entered into an agreement to acquire Top Level Real Estate (Top Level) as part of its national rollout of its real estate sales and property management platforms.

Top Level is a real estate business in the eastern states with 17 agents, including many of the recent high-profile so-called McGrath Leavers. Among them are Matt Lahood, Steven Chen, Maria Carlino, Thomas McGlynn, Ben Collier and Shad Hassen.

Ausnet CEO Paul Niardone said the move shows The Agency’s intent to drive growth and expand into the eastern states.

“To have attracted such high-quality executives and agents to The Agency is testament to what we have achieved with our unique real estate model and our aggressive plans to roll it out across Australia,” Mr Niardone said.

“These agents have been approached by virtually every major real estate company in Australia and have decided to join The Agency.”

Mr Niardone said The Agency will grow its sales force to 600 agents nationally.

“The Sydney and broader east coast markets are obviously a key component of this and we are pleased to be able to launch with a team as well credentialed as Top Level.”

He said since its inception 18 months ago, The Agency has shown itself to be a “highly successful and disruptive” real estate agency model.

“These agreements demonstrate our commitment to attracting the very best talent in the country as we seek to expand our business,” Mr Niardone said.

The acquisition will see The Agency increase its sales agents from 49 to 72.
