A new social media-friendly digital platform has been launched to connect home owners directly to buyers, at no initial cost.
NOKK allows home owners to load their property to a digital platform that alerts potential home buyers to its existence.
Co-founder Ben Voltz said that the process is simple.
“NOKK is free to join. As an owner, you can set up your profile and then simply post your property for a potential buyer to see.
“Owners then have access to NOKK services and can boost their property’s exposure and make their property discoverable on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and other digital marketing channels.”
Mr Voltz said that owners are able to post their property to enhance its profile.
“It’s anonymous like Airbnb and owners choose [how] to connect and how they communicate with a potential buyer.
“If this is a challenge, they can click on one of NOKK’s service providers to seek assistance with the negotiations.”
Co-founder William Evans said that the new platform is designed to compliment others already in the industry.
“It’s a LinkedIn for property,” Mr Evans said.
“Unlike other start-ups, our aim isn’t to challenge other platforms such as REA and Domain, rather to float stock on the market at a low level of commitment for the owners.
“It’s almost a presales environment, where the owner gets access to service providers to help prepare and transact and can connect to potential buyers without any commitment to buy into anything or sell.”
Mr Evans said that the platform has the potential to cover as much as 80 per cent of the market.
“These owners were not coming to market because they had to make a hard, costly commitment to sell. NOKK has been designed to take away the stress and heavy commitment associated with buying and selling a property. We are giving the consumer the control.
“We realised that with technology, we could make the experience easier and more enjoyable for both owners and buyers, and in turn bring more stock to market.
“We could help remove barriers and bring owners softly to the market, matching them to willing buyers.”
