The Raine & Horne Foundation has announced a partnership with Rural Aid, Australia’s most trusted rural charity, in recognition of the challenging conditions farmers have been facing in recent years.

The real estate brand’s charitable arm has signed on as a bronze partner with a donation to support the organisation’s community programs.

The network’s connection to agriculture and the people who support this industry is longstanding, with the foundation of Raine & Horne dating back to 1883, when Tom Raine and business partner Joseph Horne opened their business with a focus on rural estates.

Speaking of the new partnership, Angus Raine, executive chairman of Raine & Horne, remarked on the importance of helping farming families across the country.

“We believe this latest partnership with Rural Aid will allow the Raine & Horne Foundation to better support rural and regional communities in times of need, as well as creating long-lasting social impact in agriculture.”

He said he hoped the network’s contribution would serve to “fortify the resilience and long-term sustainability of Australia’s agricultural sector, which often faces the severe impacts of our country’s challenging and extreme natural disasters”.

The funds will assist in Rural Aid’s provision of essential support to farmers affected by natural disaster through financial, wellbeing and fodder assistance.

John Warlters, chief executive officer of Rural Aid, commented on the help that Raine & Horne’s partnership will provide for the organisations work.

“Growing our connection through a partnership with the Raine & Horne Foundation will help sustain our prevention and preparedness activities crucial to building community resilience.”

“Future support through our partnership will enable greater efforts across the entire disaster life cycle, which is important before, during and after trying times,” Mr Warlters said.

Rural Aid, created in 2015, is well-known for its comprehensive support programs. It offers financial aid, counselling, water and hay supply, and volunteer support to farmers affected by natural disasters.

In the last five years, the charity has raised and distributed $100,000 and has more than 18,000 farmers registered to receive assistance.

The charity’s goals are to protect farming and rural communities before, during and after natural disasters.

Raine and Horne created the Raine & Horne Foundation in 2021.

Since then, over $600,000 has been donated to causes such as Dignity’s “1 Million Meals”, the Red Cross Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, CARE Australia, and those affected by the severe earthquake in Turkey, in early 2023.
