A former radio presenter and Winter Olympian has relaunched his real estate career with a major network.

Roger White, a former 2UE newsreader and Hills District real estate agent, has joined Raine&Horne Bella Vista/Glenwood in NSW.

The former television commentator with Channel Nine and Seven worked as a real estate agent operating in the Hills District and only returning to the media to cover the Sydney Olympics.

Mr White said his switch from the fourth estate to real estate was timed to coincide with the surge in values and activity in the Bella Vista and Glenwood real estate markets.

“I recently attended an open home with Emmanuel Fardouly, the principal of Raine&Horne Bella Vista/Glenwood at 3 Pomegranate Place, Glenwood, which attracted more than 45 groups,” he said.

"Eight interested groups negotiated over three days resulting in one lucky buyer grabbing the prize,” said Mr White.

Mr White said he was confident the adrenaline surge from listing and selling houses will match the buzz of covering bushfires, bombers and earth quakes.

“It’s like I’ve never left real estate and the adrenaline of being at the open home and making sales is akin to working in a radio newsroom,” he said.

Since 1983, Mr White has covered politics, crime, sports and was a long-term court reporter, and was actually covering a murder trial in Sydney for 2UE when Mr Fardouly sent him an email to invite him to return to the real estate industry.

“Over the course of his illustrious career in journalism, Roger has also covered countless bushfires, was one of the first journalists on the scene after the Newcastle earthquake in 1989 and also comprehensively covered Madeleine Pulver's Mosman collar bomb nightmare two years ago for 2UE, as well as virtually every news agency in the world including CNN and the BBC,” Mr Fardouly said.

“I actually sold Roger’s four-bedroom home in Glenwood a few months ago for $625,000, which he bought about 12 years ago for $343,000, so his experience living and working as a real estate agent in the area is a major plus for Raine&Horne Bella Vista/Glenwood.”
