Samuel Hadgelias and Scott Somerton are set to open a brand-new commercial office to service the city.

Ray White Commercial (SC) is set to service the sales, leasing and asset management needs of metropolitan Sydney – as well as further afield in NSW.

According to a statement from Ray White corporate, Mr Hadgelias will be responsible for the commercial sales division in the new business, while Mr Somerton will take on the asset management side of things.

They’ll be joined in the new agency by operations and marketing manager Svetlana Lobinskaya and sales associate Leslie (Yifu) Li.

Head of agency operations at Ray White Commercial Andrew Freeman is thrilled to welcome familiar faces into their own office.

He said: “The depth of knowledge and experience that these gentlemen have will undoubtedly bring a lot of success to them and their clients.”

Mr Hagelias’ move into business ownership is a special one. He grew up working in his parents’ Ray White Paddington agency in Queensland.

“My dad George Hadgelias was one of the first ever franchisees of the Ray White Group, and is now coming up to 38 years of running my family’s business in Brisbane,” he shared.

Even so, working in real estate wasn’t where his career path initially took him. Having studied a bachelor of law and business majoring in property, Mr Hadgelias first practised law for five years before moving into commercial sales and leasing in 2015 with the Ray White network.

He sees becoming a business owner as “the next step in my career”.

“Our values align so heavily, and the brand recognition of Ray White Commercial is very important to me,” he shared.

Mr Somerton is also a legal practitioner – as well as a chartered accountant, and brings to the business extensive real estate experience working across asset management, insolvency, risk and credit.

Having also done a stint in private equity, Mr Somerton said he and his business partner would be well-equipped to provide an end-to-end service for clients.

According to Mr Hadgelias, the pair “are very detail-oriented in all aspects of our work, and pride ourselves on excellent communication with clients to help build strong relationships”.

Ray White Group managing director Dan White said that the new business’ opening marks a “special moment” for the group, commenting that “it is always incredibly exciting to see the next generation of a family become leaders in their own right”.

“Samuel has had a brilliant example of leadership set by his father George, and now deserves his own opportunity following many years of hard work and from the endorsement of his clients,” he shared.

“A commitment to excellence will no doubt be the hallmark of their business.”
