After a decade with Knight Frank, Guy Bennett has joined Cushman & Wakefield to lead the South Australia team.

As well as taking on the role of managing director, Mr Bennett will also head up Cushman & Wakefields’ South Australian capital markets team.

Having begun his career in the real estate industry in 2006, Mr Bennett first worked with Charter Hall. During his time there, he held a number of high-profile positions at the company, including those in project leasing, acquisitions, asset management, and development management.

After spending some time in New York and London, Mr Bennett moved back to Adelaide in March 2012 and found work with Knight Frank’s national capital transactions group, where he remained for the next decade.

The managing director’s appointment follows the gaining of Jed Harley, Hamish Crouch, and Jay Nash for Cushman & Wakefield’s commercial real estate (CRE) team, with Mr Harley spearheading the investment sales business, and Mr Crouch and Mr Nash driving Cushman & Wakefield’s industrial business.

According to Mr Bennett, “this new agency team is a natural extension of Cushman & Wakefield’s current business in Adelaide. We want to offer our valued clients more services, so this is a natural step.”

The new South Australian office follows the recent purchase of Sheffield Property in Perth, which is an office leasing and property management company.

Simon Fenn, the managing director of CRE ANZ at Cushman & Wakefield, said that Mr Bennett’s new job is an exciting step forward for the Adelaide office as they work to grow their South Australian presence — and he called it “another step towards building a national platform for real estate agencies”.

“I am excited to be joining at an exciting time for the local market and working with a high-performing national and global team,” Mr Bennett concluded.
