The global property firm marked the start of 2023 by appointing a new executive to lead a business unit considered central to its growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.
Susheel Koul has been named chief executive for JLL’s Work Dynamics in the APAC region — a business unit that provides a suite of services covering the full real estate life cycle for corporate occupiers.
Notable offerings by the unit include integrated facilities management, sustainability consulting, construction project management, workplace experience and lease transaction management.
Mr Koul succeeds Jordi Martin, who will retire from the company at the end of March 2023 after a 31-year-long career at the organisation.
Under the new executive post, JLL shared that Mr Koul will be responsible for the business unit’s strategy for continued growth in the Asia-Pacific region, with a sustained focus on creating long-term value for the global firm’s clients through “human-centric, resilient, and responsible real estate solutions”.
Mr Koul expressed his enthusiasm for taking on a leadership role. “We have an incredible opportunity to guide our clients through current challenges they face in driving value and performance through their corporate real estate,” he added.
Mr Koul, who has been with JLL since 2001, steps into the chief executive post with 25 years of experience in real estate. Currently based in Singapore, he has notably held a number of senior roles in the business, focusing on sales and client servicing.
Most recently, he served as the division president for Work Dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region, where he was in charge of some of JLL’s biggest corporate clients.
Neil Murray, the chief executive of JLL’s global Work Dynamics team, highlighted Mr Koul’s “outstanding reputation” throughout his 22-year career at the organisation.
“He is a trusted advisor to our key clients as we help them navigate the changing world of work and workplaces. He has strong relationships across our business units and geographies, which will enable him to build on our existing platform to lead the team to even greater success,” Mr Murray said.
Mr Murray also acknowledged the solid groundwork Mr Martin laid out for his successor.
“I want to thank Jordi Martin for his commitment in leading the business through significant growth and change. During his 31 years with the firm, Jordi has made significant contributions and leaves a remarkable legacy. We wish him well in his next life chapter,” he stated.
