The commercial company has brought three new players into their Queensland arm.

Savills Australia and New Zealand has established a brand new residential project marketing team, marking their first entry into the state’s residential market.

Leading the team will be Jo Prince-Gillies, who is joining Savills from her previous leadership role at McGrath.

According to Savills, Prince-Gillies has over two decades of experience in residential projects and developments, and has previously been named a winner of REB’s Project Agency of the Year in 2021.

Jade Loch will join Prince-Gillies as operations manager, and Ryan Hayes will accompany them as sales executive.

Speaking on the new changes, Prince-Gillies shared that she and her team are “absolutely thrilled to join Savills”.

“It is a significant move that opens exclusive avenues for our developer clients,” Prince-Gillies said.

Over the course of her career, Prince-Gillies has developed a keen interest in off-the-plan developments, premium apartments and townhouse developments in south-east Queensland, and she is excited for the new opportunities that her position at Savills will open up.

“Our developers now have unparalleled access to a global network, crucial market insights and top-tier expertise,” she said. “Our clients can tap into a wealth of resources, navigate market intricacies with precision, and receive targeted support in identifying lucrative opportunities.”

“It’s an exciting development that aligns perfectly with our commitment to assisting more developers in Queensland to successfully sell out their projects,” said Prince-Gillies.

State managing director for Queensland, Anthony Ott, returned Prince-Gillies’ enthusiasm about the inauguration of the new team.

“We’re delighted to have Jo head our new residential project marketing business and welcome Jade and Ryan to our Queensland team,” said Ott.

“The expertise Jo and her team brings allows us to extend our service offering to the residential sector, which is experiencing strong demand due to ongoing population growth, an undersupply of housing in south-east Queensland and strong demand for premium boutique apartments.”

In a recent podcast episode with REB’s Juliet Helmke, CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) Antonia Mercorella revealed that home prices in the Sunshine State are continuing to skyrocket.

Over the course of 2023, median home prices in Queensland rose by 6 per cent while units saw an impressive 8.1 per cent rise.

In fact, home prices in Brisbane are now even higher than Melbourne, leading CoreLogic economist Eliza Owen to state that “as home values in the city continue to rise, there is less claim to Brisbane being relatively affordable”.
