With well over two decades of experience in commercial property valuation, Geoffrey Brown joins the firm as a shareholder and member of the executive leadership team.
A specialist in childcare, educational and medical facilities, Brown has experience across diverse real estate assets including agribusiness, rural, commercial, industrial and residential property.
He has a bachelor of business, majoring in property, an advanced certificate in real estate, and is a certified practising valuer and licensed estate agent. Brown is also a fellow of the Australian Property Institute.
In taking on the new job, Brown said he would focus on expanding the capabilities of LAWD’s specialist property valuations unit, particularly as the firm recently widened its purview to include professional services, industrial real estate and metropolitan development.
“I have broad experience in childcare assets, litigation and acquisition, and am looking forward to growing these elements of LAWD’s services, along with rental determinations and the valuation of hospitality and medical assets,” Brown said.
He also noted that he felt the company was a good fit for his professional goals.
“LAWD is extremely agile and dynamic, and appealed to me as the right cultural fit and next extension of my career. We now have a tremendous opportunity to support the business in its diversification and extraordinary trajectory of growth.”
LAWD’s CEO, Enda Foley, described Brown’s appointment as integral to the transition currently underway at the company, as it looks to make a name for itself outside of agribusiness, regional and peri-urban development.
“Geoffrey’s appointment will have immediate impact on our capability to deliver a diverse specialist offering and he will be integral to building what we hope will become the nation’s premier specialist valuations unit,” Foley said.
“We warmly welcome Geoffrey as LAWD continues to expand both its geographic presence and service lines, and are proud to have him work alongside colleagues we believe are some of the best property professionals in the country,” he added.
