The commercial real estate firm has named the latest appointment in its recruitment drive.

To increase growth in the industrial team, McGees Property Adelaide has taken on board respected operative Marco Onorato as senior executive of sales and leasing.

Commenting on his addition to the team, Onorato said: “I’m excited to be joining McGees Property and to bring my expertise and experience to the growing team.

Having previously worked with global real estate companies Colliers International and Knight Frank, Onorato has experience across sales, leasing, financial modelling, and portfolio management in the Adelaide property market. With a background in the industrial and logistics sector, Onoranto is well-placed to provide insight into investment-grade, development sites, vacant possession and project sales and leasing.

McGees Property director Andrew Wilson explained that the firm was focused on “assembling a team that not only understands the intricacies of the industrial sector but also has the experience and relationships needed to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients”.

“By bringing on board individuals like Marco, who share our commitment to excellence, we’re confident that McGees will remain a leader in the industry, capable of handling everything from small shed leasing deals, to industrial project sales, to large institutional transactions,” he said.

Onorato reflects this vision as he has built long-established connections by servicing clients covering a range of sectors including high-net-worth-privates, REITs, state and federal government, and non-profit organisations.

“His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach, and provide maximum value to our clients, whether they are looking for leasing solutions or are involved in complex, high-value transactions,” Wilson said.

A continuation of demand for industrial assets in Adelaide from owner-occupiers, investors and tenants, combined with limited supply online, is underpinning industrial land values and rental growth across the city, which the brand intends to capitalise on in the months ahead.

This is just the latest appointment in a recruitment drive across its industrial team, with the firm recently naming Theo Kaldis as senior commercial property manager and Boyd Octoman as senior executive – sales and leasing.

“Building out our industrial team is a strategic priority as we continue to grow our capabilities across all market segments. Our aim is to offer a full spectrum of services that cater to our clients’ diverse needs,” Wilson has said of the recruitment effort.

Additionally, McGees recently recruited former CBRE director Dallas Sears, who has 24 years in the retail industry, as the new director of large format retail.
