The real estate giant has made a public commitment to disability inclusion in its workforce.

Cushman & Wakefield Australia has debuted its inaugural Disability Action Plan (DAP), which sets out the company’s goals for disability inclusion within its workforce between 2025 and 2027.

The initiative, according to the firm, is “more than a policy, the DAP represents a promise to challenge barriers, promote belonging, and ensure all individuals have the opportunity to thrive”.

Building upon the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies, those behind the plan have said it’s intended to “guide meaningful change across the organisation’s culture, practices and business operations”. The DAP was created after extensive consultation with internal and external stakeholders, including the company’s teams, industry experts and advocacy groups.

A key pillar of the initiative is the company’s Leading with Education and Awareness of Disabilities (LEAD) Employee Resource Group (ERG). LEAD is intended to ensure the company is fostering a company that prioritises disability inclusion by dismantling barriers and driving awareness.

Released on the the International Day of People with Disability, the company stressed the role that all companies and individuals can play in addressing discrimination and inaccessibility.

The release of the DAP comes on the heels of some substantial growth for the firm’s Australian operations, with a slate of new appointments at the director level across the country announced in October.

The focus on inclusion also falls within the first full year of Noral Wild’s leadership, with the commercial real estate veteran having stepped into the role of Cushman & Wakefield ANZ CEO in April of this year.
