A top-performing agent shares how she structures her week for success.
Mondays are the most important day of the week for D’Leanne Lewis of Laing + Simmons Double Bay. As the number four ranked agent in REB’s Top 50 Women in Real Estate 2016, Ms Lewis knows how important it is to structure her week for success. She spoke to Tom Panos at AREC 2016 about locking herself away on Mondays and sticking to her ideal week.
“My husband always says I’m the easiest person to assassinate. He knows where I am all the time because I follow this ideal week religiously,” Ms Lewis said.
On Monday, Ms Lewis starts her week by arriving at her office at 10.30am and locking her door until around 10pm.
During this time in her office, she calls clients and responds to emails, “unless of course someone wants to list with me” she said.
Another important factor in Ms Lewis’ ideal week is meditation, which she picked up during a trying time in her career. She now swears by it, committing to 15 to 30 minutes every morning to meditate.
“It calms the mind, soothes the soul, makes you feel better afterwards, makes you feel more in control of where you’re going, and for me, doing it in the morning is terrific,” Ms Lewis said.
“I know that it will lead me to all of the things that I want to do during the day and to feel good about them I just have to get up half an hour to 45 minutes earlier and meditate in that time.”
Ms Lewis also exercises daily, alternating between the gym and walking, another important part of her ideal week.
