Professionals Real Estate is facing the challenges of the industry head on and coming out on top, says general manager Alastair Lias.
Mr Lias said that one of the things Professionals was doing to meet new challenges was the development of better CRMs to serve their members.
“With many options out there, agents will be looking to the growth of CRMs and associated business management systems to ultimately be a one-stop system that will save costs and streamline business management and structure efficiency,” Mr Lias said.
What makes Professionals stand out in the industry is the fact that it is a member-based group and has no shareholders, Mr Lias said.
“The fees our members pay go back into the membership by way of products, marketing and services.
“We are like-minded agents and a group with a strong corporate structure but also run by agents for agents.”
The group has grown considerably, adding six new offices to the east coast in November last year, which Mr Lias said was due to their system changes.
“We have introduced several lead generation systems that are of no extra charge to our members,” the GM said.
Mr Lias added that a growth area for Professionals would be the recruitment of sales staff and property managers.
“The need for recruitment of sales staff and to some degree property managers is an ever-increasing challenge,” the GM said.
Mr Lias said that legal changes had made recruitment a challenge for all agents and that they will change how agencies operate.
“We are and will continue to see a further divide with either an agency being a very small cost-efficient agency or those that grow into large agencies able to sustain the rising costs within the industry,” the GM said.
However, Mr Lias was optimistic that Professionals would be able to meet those recruitment challenges.
“We have a great brand that reflects our name ‘Professionals’, which is seen as a trusted brand by the public,” Mr Lias said.
