The Agency has recruited a high-performance selling agent from the iconic real estate city of Los Angeles in California, one who transacted USD$20 million in sales in her first year.

Following on from a dynamic international career, Rachel Etherington moved into selling high-end property across the LA landscape under the prestigious Hilton & Hyland brand.

National director of sales Thomas McGlynn said that within her first year, Ms Etherington had transacted a remarkable USD$20 million in residential sales.

Mr McGlynn said that with a background in advertising and environmental start-ups in the UK and in Sydney, the agent brings “a plethora” of business acumen to her real estate service.

“Rachel Etherington has led an incredible career managing environmental start-ups within the philanthropy space and in the global advertising environment; her network is extraordinary and her drive even more impressive.

“Rachel has the ability to create real momentum and builds very strong relationships with her clients, testament to this is achieving USD$20 million in property sales in her first year of [working in] real estate.”

Mr McGlynn said that anyone who meets Rachel will be swept up in her energy and drive.

“Her passions go well beyond her real estate business, and there are many causes she has championed over the years, including moving one of the last remaining white rhinos from the Czech Republic to Kenya in an attempt to save the species.

“She also mentors young women personally and professionally, a service she will continue here in Australia.”

Relocating to Sydney from LA, Ms Etherington said that she chose The Agency after identifying key synergies between the brand’s approach and her operational style and values.

“I want to disrupt the traditional culture of real estate, to bring something new and fresh, which is truly client-centric,” the agent said.

“The Agency was the natural choice; they’re young, hungry and determined to change the nature of the property business in Australia.

“It was also vitally important to me that I joined a business with values and an approach I admire. My dealings with The Agency management team, particularly Thomas McGlynn, have really inspired me. He has epitomised integrity, professionalism, expertise and a desire to help identify and nurture talent.”

Ms Etherington said that her approach is client-focused rather than geographical.

She said that a point of difference has been working with private equity and venture capital investors to structure innovative property deals.

“I work fiercely for my clients and I bring integrity and honesty to all that I do; for me, it really is about doing what is best for my clients, both sellers and buyers.

“I am also unperturbed by a challenge. This business can be relentless, but this type of challenge is what drives me.”
