Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate has kicked off the new financial year with the launch of a new mobile agent model, wooing a real estate veteran to its corporate team in the process.

The network’s recruitment comes off the back of the launch of the ASPIRE model, which will target agents who are looking to operate remotely and for themselves without the restraints of a physical franchise office.

According to CEO Michelle Delaney, the ASPIRE model “provides the opportunity to run your own business with the full support of a global franchise and one of the best-known brands in Australia without the overheads of owning a shopfront”.

She said the industry is changing, and while a traditional shopfront does still provide a long list of benefits, “we believe now more than ever that offering the additional mobile agent model will enable more real estate professionals to own their own business while expanding our footprint to areas we wish to grow”.

It’s one of the reasons why Karen Young has made the decision to join the corporate team as business growth manager for Queensland.

The 25-year industry veteran brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, according to Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, with expertise across direct sales, marketing, house and land packages, units, high-rise apartments and waterfront properties.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Young said: “With a brand already a household name, and offering both a shopfront and mobile agent model, I felt that the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate proposition was so strong that I felt like I could be part of something groundbreaking.”

Ms Delaney has said the network is “thrilled to have Karen join the team in Queensland”, which the agency has flagged as a “strategically important” market.

She’s expressed confidence that Ms Young’s “drive and expertise will enable us to continue the momentum achieved by the brand”.

“With our franchise offices continuing to open across Australia, and just having signed up our very first ASPIRE mobile agent, the time was right to bring a new talent like Karen into our team,” the CEO stated.
