McGrath Limited has confirmed it has extended its Sydney focus to St Ives, with a father and son team joining the group.
Mark and Daniel Cook have joined McGrath, where they will focus on the key suburbs of St Ives and St Ives Chase. The new McGrath St Ives team will open with a team of six in sales and a rent roll of over 140 properties under management.
The father and son team brings a wealth of local knowledge in the area, with Mark’s real estate career spanning 30 years and Daniel’s 17.
“Daniel and I are excited by the move to McGrath,” Mark Cook said. “We see it as a natural fit, and have been impressed by their brand, professionalism and processes.
“We believe this will enable us to purely focus on sales both in residential and off-plan. Importantly, we will have the time and resources to focus on our clients.”
Commenting further on the St Ives market, Mark said: “This is a family-dominated suburb that is seeing good buyer enquiry attracted to more affordable family homes on large blocks than nearby suburbs. Its proximity to a choice of excellent schooling is a real drawcard to families. In fact, St Ives North Public School and St Ives High School rank in the top 10 in NSW.
“Its proximity to some outstanding recreational facilities that include Pymble Golf Club, as well as parklands and sporting clubs for school sports, is very attractive to young families. So, we are seeing an upsurge of buyer interest that is being driven by affordability, with its proximity to nearby transport hubs and public transport.”
Daniel Cook added: “There has definitely been a change in property styles in the area, with an added mixture of one, two and three-bedroom apartments that offer a lower entry point to young families. This kind of diversity is also seeing the demographic evolving with a bustling village centre.”
McGrath founder and executive director John McGrath noted the Cooks will be a great addition to the McGrath brand.
“This is another example of a considered and strategic decision to acquire well-placed property management businesses and align our sales operation with the highest quality professionals who are dominant in the communities in which they operate,” Mr McGrath said.
“We have long regarded Sydney’s northside as aspirational with a wide appeal to families wanting to experience a lifestyle in areas that offer great recreational facilities, yet be close to schools and other important infrastructure. The St Ives region, we believe, has great appeal with its distinctive village vibe, deep sense of community in a beautiful leafy setting, and importantly has the opportunity for capital growth over the next few years.”
Anthony Meaker, commercial director for McGrath, described Mark and Daniel as outstanding area specialists “who share our values of integrity, customer service and high performance”.
“Equally, they are well known to our existing upper northside agents, who have the highest regard for the way they conduct their business and close rapport they have with an exceptionally loyal client base,” Mr Meaker said.
“We are delighted to welcome Mark, Daniel and their team into McGrath, as we wish to expand our presence in this very important market, while also complementing our established offices in Wahroonga and Lindfield.”
