Leah Calnan has been re-elected as president of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) for the 2020–21 term.
Ms Calnan’s reappointment follows a REIV board meeting earlier this week where it selected the leadership positions for the next term.
“I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to again represent such a strong and resilient real estate sector,” Ms Calnan said.
“The REIV has worked extremely hard over the past few months; continued support of the membership has been absolutely crucial in responding to this pandemic. We will continue to work hard to help restore the real estate sector to full operation, safely and responsibly.
“Real estate is critical to Victoria’s economy, and I look forward to the challenges that are yet to come.”
In addition to the re-election of Ms Calnan, the REIV has confirmed Adam Docking has retained the senior vice-president title of the real estate body, while former REIV president Richard Simpson returns to the REIV leadership after being elected vice-president.
“There is plenty of unfinished business, and Victorian real estate needs strong leadership to help guide it through the COVID environment,” REIV CEO Gil King commented.
“Leah, Adam and Richard provide a great combination of skill, expertise and experience to lead the REIV.
“Our members are facing tough times. We will continue to do everything we can to support them. It is only through working together that we will return to a thriving real estate sector post-COVID-19.”
