Box Hill is the location of Laing+Simmons’ newest office as the brand strengthens its presence in the “growing and evolving” Sydney Hills District.

Real estate veteran Gary Lee, business owner Pradip Dhakal and international marketing expert Bishnu Rimal have joined forces to lead the new office, with all three considered long-term locals of the area.

According to the trio, the area is developing a “new identity” — attributable to rezonings of former agricultural land uses, a new town centre development, new house and land projects, and a greater variety of residential products coming to market.

Mr Lee said: “This is the ideal time in the local market context to introduce a new boutique brand and refreshed real estate offer to the Box Hill community and its surrounds.

“New projects are bringing new diversity to the Hills District region, not only in terms of the types of housing choices available to people, but also in terms of the people coming to the area themselves.”

He also noted more buyers from different backgrounds and cultures are making enquiries, which “makes sense”.

The real estate agent said the pandemic has demonstrated that people don’t need to live in near-CBD locations any longer for work, with many “showing a preference for more open space and access to natural surrounds”.

“In this respect, Box Hill has been one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. But the secret is now out,” Mr Lee said.

Welcoming Mr Lee, Mr Dhakal and Mr Rimal into the Laing+Simmons fold, the company’s head of network growth, Travis Wentriro, said the new office “is ideally positioned to complement our presence in the Hills District with a team steeped in real local experience”.

“Unlike other networks, ours is a family company where our network works together and teams can leverage off each other to create robust long-term businesses centred on providing the best possible service to customers,” he added.

The Box Hill office joins Laing+Simmons’ Quakers Hill, Pennant Hills, Kings Langley|Kings Park, Bella Vista|Glenwood and Kellyville agencies.

Noting the new team as having the opportunity to leverage the network’s strong presence in the growth region, Mr Wentriro commented that “the Hills District is vast and comprises vibrant communities against the backdrop of beautiful scenery”.

“It is emerging as one of Sydney’s key growth regions, particularly as people seek tree-change alternatives in the wake of COVID-19,” he said.
