A Sydney-based, family-owned business is both spreading its wings and returning to its roots with the alignment of a Malabar agency.
Kicking off the new year, NGFarah has revealed it will be joining with South Eastern Realty this month.
A statement from the agency confirmed NGFarah’s Cameron Airlie will move into the rebranded Anzac Parade office, while South Eastern Realty’s Peter McGuinn and Greg Gladstone’s team will remain in a bid to ensure “business as usual”.
According to NGFarah director Peter Goulding, it’s “a very exciting step for NGFarah to ‘come home’ to its very early origins in Malabar and reinforces our commitment to serving this important part of Sydney”.
With the business having been around for the last 58 years now, Mr Goulding said 2020 had seen the agency boast a strong performance, “with many high-profile sales, a steady property management portfolio and the addition in May of award-winning agent Adrian Bo as head of sales”.
The addition of the South Eastern team is a boon for the family-owned business, with Mr Goulding commenting that “Peter and Greg at South Eastern Realty share our DNA when it comes to strong ethics and family values, and you can see that in how well they’re regarded not just by clients but within the community”.
“It’s a great match for us, and we’re excited to see what we can create together in 2021,” he continued.
Operating from Bondi to Botany Bay, South Eastern Realty first opened its doors 17 years ago.
It’s a return to his roots for Mr Gladstone, who worked with NGFarah for a number of years before striking out on his own.
With Mr McGuinn, the pair have worked on residential, commercial and institutional sales as well as property management between Bondi and Botany Bay.
According to the pair, it’s the right time to make the move.
They acknowledge that they have “always enjoyed a great cross-agency relationship, and if 2020 has taught us anything, it’s about what you stand for personally and professionally”.
“In NGFarah, we have very like minds,” they said.
“We’re delighted our clients will benefit from the expanded skills and reach of the NGFarah brand and that our sales team can also broaden their opportunities through a larger eastern suburbs audience.”
Mr McGuinn and Mr Gladstone expressed: “Customer relationship has never been more important and we expect that to continue through 2021 as vendors and buyers and landlords and tenants look for something more from their interactions with real estate agencies.”
According to Mr Goulding, the family business stands in good stead for 2021: “NGFarah has always been an agency that has performed best when the going gets tough.”
He outlined that in a rising market, vendors could use anyone to sell property — “but in a tough market you need the experience, expertise and old-school sales skills”.
“This is the time that people go back to the names and brands that they know can get the job done,” the director said.
“Vendors go back to people they know can achieve good prices in a hard market, and property owners do the same with their property management.”
