One of Australia’s most well-known lifestyle markets has been tapped by two women set to spearhead a new LJ Hooker company-owned office.

Vanessa Coles and Helene Adams will be heading up the new Atlas operation, which is already expected to pull more than $40 million worth of property into the local marketplace in the coming weeks.

Ms Cole and Ms Adams have previously worked side by side and are long-term residents of northern New South Wales.

Commenting on their decision to join the new LJ Hooker brand, Ms Coles said “in Atlas, we have found a powerhouse that recognises the value of us and is committed to our future”.

“The current real estate market is rapidly changing, and now is the perfect time for Atlas to deliver international expertise and know-how to Byron,” she considered.

According to Ms Adams, COVID-19 has changed people’s way of living, with prestige buyers increasingly looking regionally instead of to the big cities.

From her perspective, “Byron is creating a ripple effect for surrounding areas, particularly the hinterland, where we’re seeing up to 15 per cent more enquiry than for town addresses”.

She highlighted that about half of the enquiries they are receiving are from locals looking to upsize or downsize, and the other half are Sydney and Melbourne buyers who are “looking to secure a home in one of Australia’s most idyllic communities”.

They “recognise this interest is also putting pressure on locals who are witnessing a rapid gentrification of the area and look forward to Byron Shire Council’s response”, Ms Adams added.

According to LJ Hooker chief performance officer Christine Mikhael, “Vanessa and Helene’s knowledge of Byron Shire is unparalleled, and their client-first approach is perfectly aligned to the ethos of Atlas”.
