Stone Real Estate is set to make a mark on the Canberra marketplace with its debut ACT offering, Stone Gungahlin.
Taking the reins is 31-year-old Jess Smith — one of the city’s top agents — who said Canberra is “more than ready to have some new energy”.
The former McGrath sales consultant explained she had long been looking for “the perfect brand with which to open her own office”.
From her perspective, Stone is “absolutely perfect” for Canberra’s booming market.
“My heart has been in this business for a long time now and I’ve always wanted to build a team with the support of a cutting-edge brand that also has a national presence,” she said.
She added that the network’s “fresh, clean brand is ideal for Canberra, which is such a transitional and transactional market”.
“We have one of the highest rates of interstate migration in the country — the ACT is growing about 25 per cent faster than the rest of Australia,” the agent flagged.
Ms Smith stated that “from both a business and customer point of view, it is so important to align myself with an agency that has the most up-to-date systems and technology as well as national power”.
“I want to be able to service clients on more than a local level,” she flagged, acknowledging consumers as now looking “for a more modern approach”.
With virtual reality and digital walkthroughs on offer, the agent said “this kind of thing hasn’t been done or seen in Canberra yet”.
“I just love how Stone is at the forefront of this kind of technology,” Ms Smith said.
The new business will have growth as a high priority, with Ms Smith looking to grow her team of four with “like-minded enthusiastic agents” very soon.
Stone Real Estate head of franchise Luke Cameron has praised Ms Smith as “undoubtedly one of, if not the most, outstanding agent in the ACT”.
He considered it “rare” to find an agent “whose achievements are simply unparalleled”.
“Jess has a phenomenal work ethic and consistently maintains the highest levels of excellence in her business,” he said.
“We are more than delighted to welcome her and her team on board.”
