The real estate group has nabbed an executive from a rival network to take on the newly created role of chief executive officer of growth.

Adrian Knowles is all set to join Harcourts’ Australian executive leadership team.

Mr Knowles has been called “both a person of integrity and a highly skilled individual capable of delivering exceptional growth at every level” by Harcourts Australia CEO Marcus Williams, who has said he is thrilled to have the “top hitter” join the team from Ray White.

Citing his “spotless track record of success”, Mr Williams said his skill set “brings immense value to the Harcourts network, underpinning our ambitious growth plans going forward”.

Mr Knowles has twice owned and operated successful real estate agencies, as well as held key corporate roles in a large franchise group through an 18-year career.

Most recently, he was the Queensland state manager for Ray White Rural and Livestock.

The new chief executive said there were a number of reasons he was drawn towards Harcourts, but an alignment of core values was a key motivator.

“It’s critically important to me that what I promise to business owners is true and deliverable — doing the right thing is at the heart of everything I do. I feel a great alignment with Harcourts in this essential core value,” Mr Knowles commented.

“Lisa and Marcus together are a powerhouse and are well supported by a strong international leadership team as well as the broader team in Australia.

“I completely believe in the ambition of the group to be the leading brand in Australia and want to be a part of that journey.”

From Mr Williams’ perspective, “it has been exciting to reflect on the calibre of people who are attracted to join us on our journey, further enhancing our success”.

“We could not be more pleased that Adrian has chosen to accept the challenge of this important role,” the CEO said.

The latest announcement comes after Lisa Pennell was appointed as the network’s chief operations officer in late March. She commenced her role on 3 May 2021.
