A “progressive and respectful” application process has led to the appointment of a new Victoria state manager at the network, as the group looks to achieve growth across the state.

Marguerite Foxall has been appointed to the role, after she was endorsed by a selection panel consisting of three local McGrath franchisees across Melbourne and Victoria’s regional areas.

According to the network, this step was taken “to ensure a cultural alignment”.

Most recently the network general manager at Greg Hocking Real Estate, Ms Foxall brings almost two and a half decades of experience to her new role with McGrath.

According to her, the decision to join the network was based on shared synergies and values: “The McGrath values echo my belief and align with my own approach in real estate.”

Adding that she’s always admired John McGrath and the McGrath brand, Ms Foxall said that she is passionate about seeing others succeed.

“It’s important to support our offices and talented people with continuous, targeted training and a customised approach to each office and individual,” she commented.

“A focus will be to help simplify and streamline our structures with an overall approach to all facets of the business including sales, property management and administration.”

Michael Townsend, the co-principal of McGrath St Kilda, and a member of the panel, called the selection process “an incredibly progressive and respectful initiative to include us”.

“To us, it signified a very real desire by McGrath to understand the local landscape and what we need on the ground,” he said.

“We are very supportive of the appointment. Marguerite has real estate experience at the coal-face and brings with her a helicopter view, as well as an understanding and knowledge at an agent level that will be a real value-add for McGrath.”

McGrath head of franchise Christopher Mourd said: “Marguerite embodies the type of leadership, knowledge, commitment and passion that is essential in a leadership role.”

He also touted her “clear understanding around all facets of daily operations, efficiencies and support of agents and their teams”.

With McGrath “very committed” to growing its presence across Victoria’s key metropolitan and regional areas, Mr Mourd said this will be achieved through “a strong and dedicated local team of high-quality professionals who live and breathe property in their state”.

“Importantly, Marguerite is highly respected among her peers, and with her strategic and creative approach provides a skill set that will be invaluable to our franchisees and new recruits and, importantly, our clients as we expand across a larger footprint,” the head of franchise concluded.
