One of Western Sydney’s top agents, Sanjeev Kumar, has taken the next step in his career going from agent to business owner by opening of LJ Hooker Schofields | Riverstone – an area currently experiencing high demand and increasing property values.
Mr Kumar joined the brand 18 months ago as a direct agent under the innovative LJ Hooker Connect program, which he utilised to transition fully into the franchise network.
Joining Mr Kumar is his new team of experienced agents and property managers, offering a full suite of real estate services across residential properties and projects.
“I joined LJ Hooker to be a part of an iconic, family-orientated brand with a solid reputation,” Mr Kumar said.
“The LJ Hooker Connect program allowed me to establish myself in the local area and ingrain in the community before taking the next step of business ownership and all that it entails.
“The support and training from a brand with over 90 years of history and experience was incredible, and I’m grateful that I had the support needed to navigate the last 18 months – a period that won’t be forgotten by many.
“It was always my plan to open an office with a team that I’ve built, so when we outgrew the home office and remote working, I knew it was time to make the transition.
“I would encourage anyone thinking about opening an agency to look at the LJ Hooker Connect model, as no other real estate brand offers this type of pathway to business ownership. Through LJ Hooker we had access to the tools and strategies we needed to successfully start an agency, as well as the support, to service our rapidly growing area.
“We’ve seen strong results and price growth in the area, particularly over the last 12 months with property prices increasing by 15.7%, so the market is ripe with opportunity.
“We know our customers will appreciate our knowledge and understanding of the local market as well as our personalised service, which combined with the technology and resources through LJ Hooker, ensures we can take the next steps to thrive and better service our community,” said Mr Kumar.
Stephen Mutton, LJ Hooker’s Head of Network Performance Australia, said Mr Kumar’s experience was a success story that proves the benefit of a step-by-step approach through the LJ Hooker Connect program.
“The LJ Hooker Connect program provides marketing support, training and coaching for those in the industry looking to join a franchise network but may not be ready just yet,” he said.
“These agents operate in an area we don’t already have an office, therefore providing a chance to strengthen the brand by seeing more signboards in more markets, improving market share and generating more referrals.
“Once onboard, our agents are mentored and backed by a national head office team that provides end-to-end support including marketing, lead generation and agent and administrative support.
“Agents also benefit from cutting-edge technology like the LJ Hooker Platform to fuel their efficiency and effectiveness, and LJ Hooker’s industry-first Vendor App which allows agents to communicate in real-time with their clients.
“If they aspire to open an office, like Sanjeev did, we’ll support and guide them as they make the transition to business ownership and, under LJ Hooker’s franchise offer, to continue to grow their business and team.
“Similarly, through the program, we can also aid business owners, even external to LJ Hooker, that are ready to step away from owning an agency for lifestyle reasons or succession planning, but still want to be active agents.
“Many don’t want to stop cold turkey, just shift how they work, so instead they can operate as remote agent, still within their area, with the tools and resources they need through LJ Hooker,” Mr Mutton concluded.
