As part of the brand’s realisation of its expansion plans, new offices have been opened in key growth areas.
Laing+Simmons Riverstone will strengthen the network’s presence in the expanding Blacktown local government area, with the office to be led by new principal and deeply experienced local agent Melvin Lingga.
Mr Lingga acknowledges the challenges facing the market in the present climate of rising interest rates and other socioeconomic pressures; however, he is adamant there is cause for optimism.
“Riverstone and surrounding suburbs have a lot to offer. There’s a wide choice of housing types, relative affordability, quality restaurants and shops, and great connections to other parts of Sydney,” he said.
“We think that with the market’s acceptance of the interest rate shifts, and the coming of spring, that there will be plenty of opportunities for buyers and vendors.”
The office’s addition to the network was born from Mr Lingga’s lengthy working relationship with Gary Lee, principal of Laing+Simmons Box Hill — which recently welcomed a new partner Amit Shrestha into its leadership team as well as finalising the acquisition of the brand’s Kellyville office — who encouraged him to join the group.
Mr Lingga explained that Mr Lee, his long-time mentor, explained the culture of the business and the supportive environment that the network fosters.
“It felt like a great fit, and we’re excited to get to work to serve the local community,” he assured.
The brand has also expanded into the south-coast market, with local agent David Calderaro taking up the role as principal of Laing+Simmons Wollongong.
Possessing several decades worth of local experience and knowledge to the local market, he described the top priorities of the new office is to “tap into the leading training and development program at Laing+Simmons to ensure our newer team members are completely ready and fully-equipped to serve our customers in the best way possible”.
He added that the brand has plans to add to its employee base before going on to say that the business’ direction aligns with that of the network’s head office.
Harriet Saunders, Laing+Simmons head of growth and development, said the latest additions to the brand are symbolic of its aspirations.
“The addition of Laing+Simmons Riverstone and Wollongong to the network is a prime example of our growth ambitions being realised. Great people working together with strong local knowledge and connections, motivated to take their business to the next level. That’s our expansion plan in a nutshell and we look forward to making further new office announcements in coming months,” she said.
While Leanne Pilkington, the network’s chief executive officer, highlighted the brand’s goal of expanding its presence in pivotal growth regions.
“We’re excited to be building our presence with quality local operators in key markets around Sydney and New South Wales, particularly those markets characterised by economic, employment and population growth.
“Riverstone and Wollongong are an important complement to the network and the expansion of our Box Hill team’s business demonstrates the growth opportunities we provide for our principals and their teams,” she concluded.
