The group behind Century 21 and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Combined Franchise Services (CFS), has named a former proptech business growth director to the business.

Sabeen Akbani is joining the brand in the role of head of growth and partnerships.

She comes to Combined Franchise Services from Before You Bid, where she held the role of business growth director.

Speaking of her new role, Ms Akbani said she is “really looking forward to leveraging [her] industry experience and passion to drive growth for both the C21 and BHGRE brands in the strategic regions [they] want to focus on”.

She reported being approached by a number of real estate brands but said it was what was on offer at both Century 21 and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate that “excited her the most” when looking to her next career challenge.

“During my time with Before You Bid, I was exposed to the various offerings that real estate networks provide their affiliates. However, it’s the unique value proposition that Century 21 and Better Homes and Garden Real Estate provide network members that impressed me,” she stated.

Frank Knez, Combined Franchise Services chief executive, said they are “thrilled” that someone with Ms Akbani’s depth of experience would be joining the growth team.

“Her solid sales experience, extensive industry alliances, and passion will power Sabeen to be a driving force behind our ambitious expansion plan across both the Century 21 and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate brands,” Mr Knez said.

Century 21 Australasia CEO James Bell has also lauded Ms Akbani’s appointment, stating that it comes off the back of a “very successful” year for the network.

Calling Ms Akbani the “perfect fit” for the role, Mr Bell reflected: “Through our previous working partnership, Sabeen saw firsthand the value and support we provide our network.

“Sabeen shares our vision, and I am excited to see her flourish in the role.”

Ms Akbani’s appointment follows the appointment of a growth manager across both networks, Michael Spork.
