Raine & Horne has its growth strategy locked and loaded for 2023 — one that is focused on expanding its presence in capital city growth corridors and rural areas.

National head of growth and network manager Tina Ashton unveiled that Raine & Horne aims to boost its office numbers by 10 to 15 per cent in the next 12-month period, starting with the launch of eight new offices across the country during the first quarter.

“We expect to get back to the same level of growth as we achieved in the 2021–22 financial year when we added 33 offices to our network,” Ms Ashton said.

She revealed that the brand’s expansion plan is taking a leaf from the playbook of the brand’s founders — Tom Raine and Joseph Horne — which is focused on the rural sector.

Although the brand expects to add many new rural offices in 2023, Ms Ashton highlighted that the brand “won’t take its eye off the ball in metro areas” either.

Generally, the network is looking to expand its web in western Sydney, northern NSW, metro Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Hobart.

“For example, we have identified growth opportunities in western Sydney, with plenty of younger agents with an average age of 38 years indicating they want to join Raine & Horne,” she said.

According to the executive, the brand’s focus on “cutting-edge technology” resonates with younger principals, highlighting the “digital firsts” offerings in its ecosystem, such as its social media marketing platform Amplify and online appraisal platform Digikit

“There is no doubt that trust and longevity along with our technology ecosystem are big attractions, and our principals rely on that in changing market conditions,” Ms Ashton said.

As part of its growth strategy, Ms Ashton also divulged that Raine & Horne has a brand refresh in the works and is currently trialling some new signboards.

Notably, the octuplet office opening at the start of the year comes ahead of Raine & Horne’s celebration of its 140 years of operation on 23 May 2023.

According to the brand’s executive chairman Angus Raine said the “unique landmark” cements the brand’s legacy, which goes all the way back to 1883.

Despite the brand being set to hit another major milestone, the fourth generation leader of the business admitted that “history alone doesn’t generate more offices”.

“Last year, we added 20 new offices despite real estate markets in some major capital cities taking a breather.

“We will continue to take the same positive approach in supporting our offices and adding to our network as we did in 2022,” he stated.
