After ending 2022 with a “growth spike”, the network is set to further its expansion plans in 2023 — starting with a launch of a new office in Inner West Sydney.
Headed by experienced local agent Megan Smith, Laing+Simmons Balmain opened its doors in January at 45 Evans Street.
Ms Smith noted that the network’s entry into the local market comes at a time when there’s “significant growth potential” in the area.
“Inner west real estate is always in strong demand and Balmain offers the quintessential inner west lifestyle. Even in the midst of last year’s interest rate rises, quality properties in Balmain held their value and as rates ideally stabilise this year, the outlook for the local market is positive overall,” she explained.
Having worked and lived in the local area for the last 10 years, Ms Smith divulged that she also felt that it was vital to “take the next business ownership step” in her career under a brand that “prioritises local expertise and community involvement”.
“From the outset, it was clear that the emphasis that the Laing+Simmons culture places on supporting people mirrors the way I plan to operate the business,” she says.
Aside from providing real estate services including sales, leasing, property management, market appraisals and auction services, Ms Smith shared that the new office is also an active participant in the local community as a sponsor to the local institution, Art Gallery on Darling.
While the business has just kicked off its operations, Ms Smith shared that she is now aiming to expand its team and recruit talented sales and property management professionals.
Head of growth and development Harriet Saunders has lauded Ms Smith and the Laing+Simmons Balmain team’s addition to the network.
“We’re looking forward to working with Megan and the Laing+Simmons Balmain team to grow a successful business for the long term in one of Sydney’s most historic, cosmopolitan and beautiful areas,” Ms Saunders stated.
The launch in Inner Western Sydney follows a triple office opening across NSW during the previous quarter, which marked the end of Laing+Simmons’ year with a “growth spike”.
In 2022, the network welcomed a total of eight offices to the fold, which included outfits in Potts Point, Riverstone and Wollongong.
“This year, we intend to leverage the growth momentum we’ve established in recent times through attracting like-minded local experts in key areas across Sydney and New South Wales. The new Laing+Simmons Balmain is a prime example,” Ms Saunders concluded.
