LJ Hooker Group CEO Christine Mikhael has shared that the vision is to be Australia and New Zealand’s most profitable at-scale network to lead the industry into the next 100 years.
“Being profitable means we can reinvest back into people, innovation, growth, performance, training, events, and fun, to name a few, to create our bright future together,” she revealed to REB.
“At-scale means we can negotiate valuable enterprise agreements, create greater internal referral opportunities for our offices and their teams, and impact and influence industry decisions to take a true leadership position.”
It’s all part of “LJH100”, coined as the branding of LJ Hooker’s new-look strategy for growth.
“LJH100 represents our new chapter and will see us to our centenary in 2028,” the CEO acknowledged.
“We are a vastly different business [from] what we were 10 years, five years, and even two years ago to today.”
Ms Mikhael said that as the company looks towards 100 years and LJH100, the business needed a strategy that would deliver significant and sustainable growth and ways to positively impact its offices, customers and communities.
“At the same time, we knew we had many strengths to draw on and reignite, like LJ Hooker’s super brand recognition, history of innovation, scale and people,” she flagged.
“We have the full weight and support of our Board of Directors and the best team in corporate and across our network to now deliver our strategy.”
The LJH100 strategy was first presented at LJ Hooker’s Pinnacle conference late in 2022. Shortly after, it was released to LJ Hooker Group’s LJ Hooker, Atlas and Harveys offices.
LJ Hooker has explained that the strategy is underpinned by five core advantages:
- People Advantage: a high-performance, high-trust culture that’s empowered, motivated and connected
- Operational Advantage: best-practice systems, processes and technologies that create superior efficiency and effectiveness
- Experiential Advantage: superior connection to markets and customers to better deliver to diverse and changing needs, wants and expectations
- Scale Advantage: strategy expansion across Australia and New Zealand to profitably grow its brands’ footprints and drive economies of scale for all
- Reputational Advantage: a house of brands that are unparalleled in trust and respected in the industry
But they aren’t the only guiding features of LJH100, which Ms Mikhael pointed out as also housing “new, modern values” for the brand that she believes “will guide us in everything we do.”
“From how we work and collaborate, attract, and retain talent and offices to how we choose to partner, just to name a few.”
Forming the acronym CARE, these values have been released into the public sphere:
- Commitment: to teamwork, collaboration, communications, sharing mutual care and mutual trust
- Ambition: to achieve, to grow, to lead, to innovate, to be better
- Responsibility: to each other, to our communities, and our environment, taking responsibility and accountability for our roles and actions
- Excellence: to best practice and high standards, to exceed expectations and deliver quality in all areas of our business
Illustrating the passion the CEO holds, she stressed the importance of the “link[ing] together” of the LJ Hooker corporate team and offices “to deliver our advantages where they matter most and lead our industry into the next 100 years.”
