The network is expanding its presence in Queensland with the opening of a third office in the Wide Bay region.

Following an acquisition, Harcourts Ignite launched Harcourts Hervey Bay, led by Michael Vella and Julie-Anne Vella.

The new location marks the latest venture by a real estate duo that entered the Bundaberg region’s real estate industry in 2011 and successfully grew their operations over the years.

In April 2022, the duo became Harcourts’ newest recruits, operating two offices in Childers and Bundaberg under the Harcourts Ignite banner.

Mr Vella expects that the addition of the Hervey Bay location will further strengthen the Harcourts Ignite brand.

“It made perfect sense for us to expand our residential market as we were already covering the area with NAI,” he remarked.

He further explained that the expansion will enable them to better serve their buyers and sellers, particularly those relocating within the Wide Bay region.

“We also saw a growth corridor throughout the wide bay region with a new train manufacturing plant ($1 billion) opening between Maryborough and Childers, a new hospital just starting construction in Bundaberg, the huge amount of building and the influx of residents to our beautiful region,” he stated.

In addition to the Ignite team being “proudly local”, Mr Vella highlighted that their “uniqueness” lies in being the only Harcourts office that contains all three of the Harcourts brands.

“Like many regional areas, we need to embrace diversity; hence, we have Harcourts, Nutrien Harcourts and NAI,” he explained.

With their operations now servicing the hinterland regions and coastal suburbs of the greater Wide Bay region, business operations manager Julie-Anne Vella revealed that their roster currently touts specialists in each area and three prominent offices with a central management team.

“The Wide Bay Region has a strong residential, commercial and agriculture industry spread across each corner of the wide bay, covering approximately 10,000 square kilometres —this is the size of greater Melbourne,” she stated.

With the addition of the Hervey Bay team, Ms Vella said that “Harcourts Ignite really represents our wide area.”

Harcourts Queensland’s chief executive, Mitch Peereboom, stated that the acquisition is “the logical next step” for the business leaders’ vision for the region.

“They have a passion for Wide Bay and their existing businesses and team have excelled over many years. To now partner with the established team in Hervey Bay takes this operation to a whole new level,” he stated.
