Committed to fortifying its market position in Perth’s south-east suburbs, the network has put up a united front to bolster its brand in the key West Australian market.
Nathan Frisina takes over as the new licensee and director of LJ Hooker Thornlie/Canning Vale, marking the culmination of a two-year succession plan.
He assumes the leadership role previously held by Dahlia and John Rechichi, who founded the business 40 years ago.
“Nathan came to work for us four years ago, and we just knew that he would be the right person to take over as he had worked for his dad as an LJ Hooker sales representative and has an in-depth understanding of technology and systems which will benefit the business,” Mr Rechichi shared.
Mr Frisina is joined by his wife Louise, who also serves as a director, officially putting the husband and wife duo at the helm of one of the “longest-running agencies” in LJ Hooker.
“LJ Hooker Thornlie/Canning Vale has been a market leader in the area since it was established back in 1982, and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to take the business into its next growth phase,” Mr Frisina said.
With a notable history in the LJ Hooker network, Mr Frisina’s family has operated an agency in Gosnells for over 20 years. Taking over the longstanding outfit, according to him, is a move that “upholds their family legacy”.
“We have been fortunate to build a unique partnership with Dahlia and John over the years which has been built on trust, respect and appreciation of one another,” he revealed.
Notably, the veteran Rechichi duo is not completely leaving the business, remaining as consultants for the outfit while also establishing a new office in nearby Harrisdale with a focus on property management.
“We want to see the brand strong out here and also wanted to ensure that there would be another LJ Hooker office opening,” Mr Rechichi said.
He also revealed that various real estate groups had expressed interest in acquiring his business, but he prioritised the value of the LJ Hooker brand over monetary gain.
“The name LJ Hooker holds immense significance for us; it has been an integral part of our lives for a substantial period,” Mr Rechichi said.
LJ Hooker Harrisdale officially opened at the start of the month, located in a high-traffic area opposite Bunnings on Ranford Road.
Wanting to keep the business a family affair, the licensee for the new business is Dahlia’s son Danny, who specialises in property management.
LJ Hooker general manager of network, Stephen Mutton, lauded the combined efforts to devise a successful succession plan while creating a new business to strategically expand into upcoming areas, such as Harrisdale, Piara Waters and Treeby.
“John and Dahlia’s commitment and dedication to the LJ Hooker network over the past four decades has been unwavering, and they have planned not just for the succession of their business but also for the brand.
“Nathan and Louise are just as passionate about the LJ Hooker network and that makes them the right candidate to take this established and successful business into its next exciting chapter,” he said.
Mr Mutton also underlined how the latest expansion and succession strengthen the network’s position in what it considers to be a market with strong potential.
“Perth is a very captivating market and remains popular for interstate investors, so the opening of the new LJ Hooker in Harrisdale puts the brand right in the hub of new growth and development.”
With the baton officially passed, Mr Frisina shared his plans as the business enters a new era under his leadership.
“We will be embracing new technology, systems and training to ensure that we can continue to deliver quality customer service for property sales, while the new office in Harrisdale will concentrate on growing its rental portfolio within some of the fastest-growing suburbs within Perth’s metro area,” he stated.
