With Brisbane’s inner-city suburbs as a starting focus, the Queensland-based executive has been tasked with spearheading sales growth for the firm.
The former chief executive of residential at Ray White Surfers Paradise Group, who also spent time as a sales general manager for McGrath’s corporate offices in Brisbane, Charles Higgins has been revealed as a new director at Aurora Property Brisbane, under the title of director of sales for Queensland.
In his new role, Higgins is set to lead a “unique proposition” for Aurora Property Brisbane – enabling agents to scale businesses and build out rent roll equity. His starting point will be inner-city Brisbane, with the firm drawing on the area’s double-digit growth across numerous suburbs in the past 12 months.
Aurora Property Brisbane is affiliated with Aurora Realty – an 11,000-strong property management firm operating across Queensland and NSW.
Higgins is of the belief that it has the capacity for agents and businesses to “scale up sales activity” by offering agents an immediate rental lead referral program and helping agents “secure quick market share growth across inner-city Brisbane”.
He brings corporate and agency leadership to the table, having managed sales activity across McGrath’s four company-owned offices in Brisbane. He also spent time as CEO of Ray White Surfers Paradise’s residential operations.
In his newest position, he said he is committed to providing a business model that allows growth for agents and teams, without a culture “where agents compete against other agents from their own brand”.
He explained it will be made possible by driving market share across key focus areas and avoiding intra-brand overlap.
According to Aurora director Summer Wang, Higgins’ decision to partner with Aurora Property is a “vote of confidence in its vision”.
Revealing the group has ambitious plans to serve Brisbane’s affluent inner north, south, east, east and west markets, she said: “Charles’ experience and industry connections will help bring this to life.”
Higgins’ appointment has been heralded as timely for the firm, highlighting Brisbane’s growing profile ahead of the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics.
The strategic appointment also follows the opening of Aurora Group’s third Sydney office in Neutral Bay, adding to its capabilities across Cammeray and Epping.
