The network has welcomed leaders that previously operated as Place Newmarket into the fold, enhancing Aurora Property’s presence in Brisbane’s competitive inner north market.
As part of this expansion, much of the team that worked under principal Mario Sultana and his wife, Karen Elliott, at Place Newmarket has also joined Aurora Property.
Since the opening of Place Newmarket in 2009, Sultana and Elliot have grown the agency into a business that, according to Aurora Property, achieves sales of $35 million to $50 million worth of properties per month and facilitates around 400 settlements annually.
Moving forward, the brand noted that the team under Sultana and Elliot will continue to serve the inner north Brisbane marketplace, including Newmarket, Kelvin Grove, Grange and the surrounding suburbs.
Commenting on the addition, Aurora Property partner and director of sales for Queensland, Charles Higgins, shared he was “thrilled Mario and Karen recognise the growth opportunities we can offer their agents and property managers”.
“They’re a trusted partner for sellers in a dynamic inner-city market that attracts entry-level buyers, upgraders and premium $3 million-plus purchasers,” Higgins said.
Sultana commented that he was “energised” by the move to Aurora Property, highlighting that “Charles has a lot of experience in leading teams and he’ll provide valuable guidance to our agents and their individual goals”.
Even with this support, Sultana emphasised that the the agents at the former Newmarket team would “retain their independence” while being able to leverage Aurora’s support to build up their own business and develop their client relationships.
“We have a lot of experience in our team – people who have been in the area for 10–15 years – and this is a strategic move that will carry our relationships and knowledge into Aurora,” Sultana said.
Director of Aurora Group, Summer Wang, emphasised that the Newmarket team “have many loyal clients with whom they’ve developed longstanding relationships”, and said that Aurora looks forward to “adding value to the service they’ve become known for”.
“They’ve placed confidence in our sales and property management offering and we’re excited to enter 2025 using our combined expertise for even greater results,” Wang said.
Building on its recent achievement of organically doubling its sales division in just 90 days, this addition represents Aurora Property’s latest move to capitalise on Brisbane’s growth as the city gears up for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
