One of the real estate industry’s most successful sellers has joined First National, where he started his career more than 20 years ago.

George Rafty is returning to the First National team, opening a new office in Newcastle's The Junction, much to the delight of the company's chief executive.

“George began his real estate career as a salesman with a First National Newcastle office in 1992,” CEO Ray Ellis said.

“In the intervening years, he has built an unparalleled reputation for excellence in the Newcastle market and, from January 2016, is now managing his own business, First National Newcastle City.

“For the past four years, George has been listed in the Top 100 Agents in Australia and he was the highest-ranking regional agent in every one of these years. In 2015, he was also a finalist in the Real Estate Institute’s Award for Excellence.”

Mr Ellis said Mr Rafty sells more than 100 homes every year.

“Success at that level only comes about with the combination of an unswerving focus on the client, coupled with a remarkable work ethic and passion for the business,” Mr Ellis said.

“At First National, our promise is ‘We Put You First’ and George epitomises that commitment.

"He is dedicated, passionate, empathetic and, above all else, genuine and down-to-earth. For all of these reasons, we warmly welcome George and his team at First National Newcastle City.”

Born and bred in Newcastle, Mr Rafty has a deep love for the city and its people, and relishes the opportunity to raise his family and build his business there. He says the loyalty of his clients who refer their friends is the key to his success.

“Without repeat business from satisfied clients, we could not have achieved these results – particularly in a regional market,” Mr Rafty said.

“For most of us, the family home is our most prized asset and you only get one opportunity to maximise its sale. This isn’t a job to me, it’s a passion. I love working with people to get the best results for them – it’s brilliant to be able to make such a difference to their lives,” he said.

“My approach is always focused and personal, working closely with every client to ensure their expectations are met and exceeded every time.”

Mr Rafty said he has assembled a “top notch team” to join him at First National Newcastle City.

“They are caring, passionate, supportive and eager to succeed – already they feel like family,” he said.

“We’re all looking forward to delivering the ultimate in world-class real estate service and marketing.

“First National has a long history in Newcastle and it’s great to be part of a 350-strong national organisation. The future is very bright and my team looks forward to flying the First National flag.”
