After graduating from an LJ Hooker training course, a rookie real estate agent has gone on to earn half a million dollars through the sale of an impressive portfolio of properties.

Wos Ayoubi of LJ Hooker Leppington completed the LJ Hooker Future Captains Program in September 2014 and has since listed and sold properties ranging from $700,000 to $9.7 million, earning over $500,000 since he began his career.

“As a rookie to the industry, you can fall victim to developing bad habits passed down to you by others in the office,” Mr Ayoubi said.

“Future Captains is research-based learning, and everything that is taught is tried and tested for success.”

The four-day course is run on a monthly basis and equips fledgling agents with the skills and knowledge to build repeat and referral business.

As part of the course, agents also learn about personal goal-setting, creating a business plan, market research, focus marketing, prospecting, listing, negotiation, auction campaigns, open homes, after-sales services and customer experience.

Since its launch in 2013, more than 800 LJ Hooker recruits have graduated from the Future Captains program, with 20 per cent qualifying for the Captains Club, which recognises and rewards the network’s highest achievers.

Mr Ayoubi qualified for the Captains Club just a year after starting his real estate career, and according to LJ Hooker head of network sales Graeme Hyde, the number of agents advancing to this group is likely to increase.

“We are still seeing many agents establishing their flourishing careers, and we fully expect that number to grow over the next few years,” he said.

“The agents say they leave the four-day course empowered and with a business plan that will keep them on track, especially in those vital early days,” he added.

“Future Captains is a launching pad for successful careers.”
