Two Harcourts agents were able to yield a successful result for the vendors of a three-bedroom home on the weekend, despite catastrophic storms hitting Australia’s Gold Coast.
Harcourts Coastal real estate agents James Fairnington and Rhyss Freeman successfully sold the home in Currumbin Waters for $815,000 after attracting eight registered bidders and a total of 20 bids.
The strong result comes after the owners expressed hesitation, concerned that the wet weather could be a deterrent for many buyers.
However, Mr Fairnington said the auction saw a great price for the home in its current condition.
“We had 64 inspections throughout the campaign, so we knew this auction was going to be a success, even with the bad weather,” he said.
Dane Atherton, auctioneer and director at Harcourts Coastal, echoed this sentiment and said “the auction thrived and the bidders were very determined”.
The home in Currumbin Waters overlooks Currumbin Creek and offers a short boat ride from the jetty to the ocean.
The buyers of the home intend to live in it for a couple of years before re-building their dream property at the location.
