The first social media platform solely dedicated to the real estate industry will be rolled out nation-wide next week.

Followit will launch across the country on Wednesday, 15 June via a national webinar, following its successful testing phase in Sydney and Perth.

The group announced that it has been valued at $20 million following a successful capital raise of $2 million, after significant interest from leading real estate agency principals.

“The buzz around Australia from real estate agents has been immense for Followit,” managing director Tony Moussa said.

“They wanted a more effective way to communicate with consumers and I feel we’ve delivered.

“Followit cuts through the clutter and improves the overall real estate experience for buyers and sellers. It offers what no other real estate technology in the country can – real time communication.”

More than 1,000 real estate agencies are expected to take part in the webinar launch. The platform will be made available Australia-wide following the webinar launch.

Followit is a social media platform that supplies live property information to any smart device or laptop via an “Instagram-like feed”.

It was developed in response to the increasing use of social media, and to eliminate communication issues within the real estate industry and improve agent-consumer relationships.

Since its initial testing phase, 2,285 agents have registered to use followit.

Agencies that currently use followit include LJ Hooker, Raine & Horne, Century 21, Belle Property, Professionals, First National, Real Mark, Abel McGrath, Acton, RE/MAX, Peard and Cunninghams.
