Ranked 7th in REB’s Top 100 Agents, Jason Pantzer of Phillips Pantzer Donnelley has set numerous sales records across Sydney's eastern suburbs. Here's how he does it.

6:00am: I am looking at the clock wishing it was 5am so I can sleep more! I am up with my trainer from 7am to 8am, currently mastering the handstand! After downing three raw eggs with berries, breakfast is done.

8:30am: I am in the office for my team meeting to discuss the weekend opens, strategy for the week in relation to vendor meetings/reports, appraisals and to discuss our team marketing plans for the week ahead. Every week we try to do a different form of marketing and we try to touch our database by phone or email. I often get ideas throughout the day so I will call Jen (my awesome EA) and ramble to her. She will then prioritise things and manage the team effectively.

9:00am-noon: All call backs are completed from the weekend opens and my focus is on potential buyers and negotiations. Between 11am and 12pm I tend to deal with emails. All generic REA and Domain emails are dealt with by my team and any ones requiring my attention, I will call them directly.

Noon: By midday I am starving – whilst my colleagues get meals delivered to the office, I like to get out of the office and go for lunch. On a training day it is usually a tuna salad, and on a non-training day it is a carb overload. Over lunch I tend to read the papers on my iPad. Understanding current affairs and the financial world always assists me with appraisals as it helps the conversation flow. I also spend this time dealing with any documents that are business/company-related, like HR, finance, property management, and compliance.

2:00pm-4:00pm: I dedicate the time between 2pm and 4pm to prospecting and calls. I am not one to smash out 500 calls a week. I do pick my calls carefully and the calls I make are the ones I tend to convert.

4:00pm-5:00pm: I look at all company-related matters and authorise any necessary directives/payments.

5:00pm-6:00pm: More calls and I reply to all emails. Every call and email received by me on any given day gets a response on the same day.

6:30pm: I try to make sure I am home to my girls. I have two daughters, a wife and a French bulldog.

8:00pm: My wife is an amazing cook. So dinner is a two to three-course extravaganza every night – we chat, I continue to email and text (still working), then we argue (because I’m still working), then we turn on the TV to chill out together.

10.30pm: I try to be in bed around 10.30pm at which point I always read through my calendar for the next day so I am mentally prepared. I also think about my strategy for any current listing I am working on. Once I am clear in my mind, I will then sleep a whole lot better.

The truth is I do not really have a typical day. Our industry is incredibly dynamic. The reality is I am accessible and available for my clients 24/7 so my day actually never ends. I am accountable to myself on a weekly, monthly and annual basis as opposed to a daily basis.
