Leading agent Nick Renna of hockingstuart Bentleigh was this year ranked number 23 in REB’s Top 100. We get a glimpse at the hard work that got him there.
5.30am Wake up, shower and get ready for a ride or spin class, depending on the weather.
6.00am Cycling. Generally a 30 kilometre ride at a quick pace with my cycling group, which is a great way to start the day. Finish with a coffee and a catch-up with the group.
8.15am Team meeting or sales training to run through the weekend’s opens and results, and general discussions and focuses for the week.
10.00am Call vendors and update them on the activity for the week.
11.00am Call my hot and warm potential prospects to update them from the weekend, and try to make appointments.
3.00pm Gym. I like to work out at this time as it breaks up the day if I have evening appointments, and I have also found that it’s not the best time to prospect due to being school pick-up time.
4.30pm Appointments.
8.00pm Home to spend time with my partner Amber. I do like to watch TV, but that’s after dinner and a chat.
10.00pm In bed – more TV. I’ve never been a great sleeper so I try and get five to six hours of sleep if I can.
On Mondays I find that I get hit with a lot of interruptions and calls, but it’s not a heavy prospecting day. I try to stay on top of any immediate sellers.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are when I try to make my database calls. On Tuesdays, this could be a five- to six-hour session, and on Thursdays it’s about three to four hours. That’s not an easy thing to manage, due to interruptions, but I work hard to protect that time.
Wednesdays are open-for-inspection days. The calls I make on Thursdays are to potential vendors trying to buy a home, so I’ll email them properties from our agency and also competitors.
I spend time on Thursdays, from midday onward, calling developers and visiting development sites.
Wednesday and Thursday nights are generally dedicated to appointments and pre-auction meetings.
I finish my Thursdays by going out for dinner with my partner at around 8.30 to 9pm, somewhere local.
