Auctioneers from the Real Estate Institute of NSW have been crowned the champions of the second annual State of Origin Auctioneer Competition against their Queensland counterparts.

The contest was hosted by the REINSW, and its president John Cunningham remarked that he was proud that the Blues were awarded the trophy on home territory.

“It was a very close match-up but ultimately NSW outclassed Queensland at ANZ Stadium yesterday,” Mr Cunningham said.

“The result now sees the Blues and Maroons tied at one series all after two years of competition,” he said.

“The build-up for next year’s event will be immense as the great rivalry continues.”

Each team consisted of four Awards for Excellence auctioneer finalists and an auctioneer great.

The victorious Blues side included Scott Kennedy-Green of McGrath Estate Agents, Josh Larsen and Edward Riley also of McGrath Estate Agents, as well as Gavin Croft of BresicWhitney/Real Estate Auction Services and Jesse Davidson of auctionWORKS.

Queensland was represented by Jason Andrews and Phill Broom of Jason Andrew Auctioneers, and Matt Condon and Justin Nickerson of Apollo Auctions. The Maroons’ great was Peter Burgin of Place.

The competition took place on Wednesday at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park.
