Agents in Australia and New Zealand will be donning pink jackets throughout October to support the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon campaign.
This will be the third year staff at Century 21 are proudly trading their gold jackets in for pink ones at auctions and around their communities to show their support for the Pink Ribbon campaign.
“Each day, over 50 Australian women are told that they have breast or gynaecological cancer,” Century 21 owner and chairman Charles Tarbey said.
In 2015, the agency raised an impressive $120,000 for the charity, a figure they are hoping to top this year.
Over the month of October, Century 21 open homes and auctions will have donation boxes and it will be selling Pink Ribbon merchandise. The agency will also be holding charity events to raise much-needed funds.
“Cancer has such a devastating impact on so many Australian lives and our network wanted to play a small part in supporting the valuable work of Cancer Council,” Mr Tarbey said.
He added that regardless of whether people are interested in real estate, he hopes to see a large turnout at Century 21’s fundraising events.
“Cancer Council is proud to partner with Century 21 in support of Pink Ribbon to help beat women’s cancers,” Cancer Council Australia CEO Sanchia Aranda said.
“This year, it is estimated that 20,000 women will be diagnosed with a breast or gynecological cancer and sadly, around 12 Australian women will die from women’s cancers each day.”
The fundraising events in October include pink-themed charity golf days, auctions and awards dinners in each Australian state.
