A real estate group has launched a new development initiative which covers effective communication, conflict resolution and customer service, among other things.

IndustryPro, a training program aimed at helping team members grow professionally, was launched by Laing+Simmons and developed by Dexar Group.

The program comprises a series of short courses facilitated by established real estate professionals.

Laing+Simmons managing director, Leanne Pilkington, said the aim of the initiative is to foster emerging talent.

“The program allows our up-and-coming agents able to learn from those who’ve already made their mark,” Ms Pilkington said.

“We recognise that our agents are time poor and that their focus should be on the core tasks involved in being an agent. That’s why we invest in initiatives to support our franchisees in the development and training of their staff, freeing them up to maintain their focus.”

The courses cover managing staff to high performance, leveraging negative gearing, writing better advertising copy, personal finance and business planning.

Ms Pilkington said the initial feedback has been encouraging.

This initiative follows an earlier one in August, when Laing+Simmons launched an employee assistance program for its members.

It was put in place to provide support to team members who might be experiencing stress, depression or anxiety.

Laing+Simmons said at the time it was the only real estate network to have introduced such an initiative at a corporate level.
