RE/MAX staff will be supporting Make-A-Wish Australia this month by putting their best legs forward and waxing for a cause.
Franchise development manager, Jeff Williams, and CEO of the network’s finance arm Australian Property Finance, Nathan Swain, have kicked off the event, being waxed live on the network’s Facebook page.
In return they will nominate four more candidates from the network to take part, with all funds raised going to children’s charity Make-A-Wish Australia as part of its Wax For A Wish 2016 campaign.
Marketing manager Aimee Doherty said she expects the initiative to spread across the RE/MAX network before the end of the year.
“Two Queensland offices, RE/MAX Advantage and RE/MAX Regency, have immediately come on board and by Christmas I expect there will have been widespread involvement across the network,” said Ms Doherty.
The Wax For A Wish 2016 campaign has raised over $20,000 to date, according to the Make-A-Wish website, and is encouraging people to nominate the “hairiest guy you know” to be waxed for this great cause.
“We think a few moments of wax-induced pain to help make wishes come true for children and teenagers battling life-threatening medical conditions is a very worthy cause, and one our RE/MAX boys are up to, but it is about fundraising, so we want people to get behind them,” said Ms Doherty.
Make-A-Wish Australia was founded in 1985 and grants wishes to children and teenagers suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
RE/MAX is collecting funds via Everyday Hero and will be posting live videos of the events on its Facebook page.
