Julia Sallows has been unveiled as the winner of this year’s Laing+Simmons Scholarship Program, the annual initiative designed to uncover talented agents of the future.

Ms Sallows will join leading local real estate office Laing+Simmons Blacktown, in Sydney where she will work alongside experienced sales specialist Mark Stone.

Introduced to the program by her school’s careers adviser, Ms Sallows completed a week of work experience in the Laing+Simmons Quakers Hill office.

“Real estate is an industry I’d been interested for many years so when I found out about the scholarship program it made sense to apply,” she said.

“The experience with the Quakers Hill team was very valuable and it was exciting to see first-hand how a busy real estate office operates.”

Laing+Simmons has been running its scholarship program for two decades, supporting young people interested in real estate.

Laing+Simmons managing director Leanne Pilkington said scholarship participants complete a work experience period during which they are mentored by an experienced agent.

Ms Pilkington said the program provides a unique opportunity for students who are interested in a real estate career.

“Real estate is a dynamic and competitive industry and there’s an ever present need to improve professional standards among agents,” she said.

“The program is designed to do precisely this and we congratulate Julia on her deserving win.”
