A prominent real estate group has posted record-breaking figures for the month of December.
Barry Plant Group’s December 2016 sales figures increased on their December 2015 figures by almost 27 per cent in commissions and 11.3 per cent in sales. It comes despite a state-wide decrease in property sales.
Victoria’s leading agency also experienced a record quarter, improving on its December 2015 quarter by 2.8 per cent in number of sales and 6.3 per cent in value of sales.
“While the state figures aren’t confirmed yet, we are in no doubt that we have well and truly held our own in a contracted market,” Barry Plant CEO Mike McCarthy said.
“And we are confident of a strong start to 2017.”
2016 saw an overall decrease of 6.9 per cent in sales for the Barry Plant Group, with the value of properties recorded down by 1.8 per cent.
Overall, Victoria recorded a drop of up to 16 per cent in number of sales in the market as a whole and a potential drop of 18 per cent in the value of sales for 2016. In comparison, the Barry Plant Group outperformed the market.
