The Real Women in Real Estate networking group has announced its first dates for Catch Up with the Property Girls, a personal and professional growth initiative for women in real estate.
Launched in 2015, Catch Up with the Property Girls events were established by Laing+Simmons managing director and incoming president REINSW Leanne Pilkington. The events aim to inspire, empower and support women in real estate. Its next series of networking events will focus on growth.
“The number of women working in the industry is growing. Recognition among consumers of the different skills women bring to the table is growing. It makes sense for us to focus our efforts on growth too,” Ms Pilkington said.
“While today there are nearly as many women working in real estate as there are men, there are still some frontiers to overcome to achieve true gender balance in the industry,” she said.
“By encouraging women to grow personally and professionally and to take the next step – be it into sales, team leadership roles or even business ownership – is something our upcoming events will tap into. It’s about engaging with women at all levels, from those starting out in the industry to those with plenty of experience. Catch Up with the Property Girls enables everyone to hear the success stories of their peers, understand the challenges and discuss solutions.”
Ms Pilkington added that the events were also an opportunity for women in real estate to celebrate their collective achievements.
The events will take place Australia-wide, with more events to be announced in the coming months.
So far, events will be held on the following dates:
Newcastle – 16 Newcastle
Sydney – 22 February
Adelaide – 22 March
Melbourne – 29 March
