One of the winners at the 2016 REB Awards has described the honour as a “great” achievement, saying winning any award is good for business.
Alex Lambros of LJ Hooker Home Loans eastern suburbs, who won the Residential Mortgage Broker of the Year award last year, says the REB Awards are the “award of awards” for the real estate industry.
“Because we are so heavily affiliated with real estate, it was a great award for us to win,” Mr Lambros said.
“On [a] business level, it’s given us terrific credibility to be able to explain to clients that we have been recognised at a national level in a highly competitive environment, and that we have been awarded as one of the best two years in a row.
“We are in a referral-based business and so winning the award gives others something to describe us with and to also give you that point of difference. Everyone like to be affiliated with an award winner.”
Franchisor LJ Hooker, which received the realestate.com.au 2016 Digital Presence of the Year award, echoed Mr Lambros’ sentiments.
The group’s outgoing CEO Grant Harrod said at the time that he was proud to have been named as a winner.
“The recognition cements LJ Hooker as the benchmark in the digital arena and reflects our achievements in evolving the ways consumers absorb information and make real estate decisions,” Mr Harrod said.
