A former director of McGrath and Marshall White has joined the rapidly rising real estate group The Agency as its general manager for Victoria.
With 25 years’ experience in real estate under his belt, Peter Kakos will be responsible for establishing The Agency’s expansion strategy into Melbourne, a task he says he is “raring” to take on.
Mr Kakos said he has long believed the traditional real estate model can be improved on.
“When [CEO] Matt Lahood shared his vision for The Agency, I knew immediately we were perfectly aligned to make a significant and positive impact on the real estate industry,” he said.
Mr Kakos will focus on five areas in the Melbourne market – recruitment, support and operating systems, marketing, client service and a balanced working culture.
“The agents will be working in the very best environment, getting the best training and our clients will ultimately be receiving the benefits,” he said.
“Every single person who works for The Agency Melbourne will be a quality person who shares our strong vision and values.”
Mr Lahood welcomed Mr Kakos to the team, praising him for his expertise and experience.
“Peter Kakos is highly regarded in the industry and has made a big impact in real estate as a coach, mentor and in growing businesses, both in culture and sales,” he said.
“He is a respected thought leader and I could not imagine anyone other than Peter Kakos to head up Melbourne for The Agency.”
Mr Kakos has worked for some of Australia’s top real estate brands, including McGrath as sales, training and marketing director for its Neutral Bay, Mosman and Northbridge offices, and Marshall White as a director of its Brighton office.
He is also an award-winning auctioneer, winning both the Australasian Auctioneering Championships and Victorian Senior Auctioneering award.
Backed by ASX-listed Ausnet, The Agency’s expansion into Victoria follows its New South Wales launch in February.
Ausnet is backed by the Finsure Group, one of the country's largest mortgage broking and financial planning groups.
