Phillips Pantzer Donnelley’s Alexander Phillips is Australia’s top ranked agent. Ranked number one in REB’s Top 100 Agents in both 2016 and 2017, Mr Phillips reveals one simple secret for getting to the top – and staying there.

“There is a consistency in everything that we do,” he told REB on the Secrets of the Top 100 Agents podcast.

“It’s very structured. We do the same thing day in and day out. It’s a proven formula obviously, because we got the number one ranking last year and it’s flown on into this year.”

It’s been a tough year in real estate and while Mr Phillips’ stock levels in 2017 are the same as 2017, his sales have increased.

“We’re faster and hungrier,” he said.

“I look at what we do day in and day out, and we’re in seventh gear.”

Mr Phillips said a lot of his success is down to using his working hours effectively.

“The minute we get into the office, we’re in there and were working, he said.

“We dont go for long lunches. We’re always available, always on the phones. We’re doing the basic things that real estate agents should be doing, which is building relationships, getting in front of people, closing deals, maintaining databases, updating people, giving them advice.

“We’re just doing all those little things right.”

On his way to being the top ranked agent in 2017, Mr Phillips sold 192 properties worth $432 million in the 2016 calendar year, at an average of $2.2 million per property.
