Sam Barnett, the son of WA Premier Colin Barnett, has joined Crawford Property Group (CPG) as part of plans to expand the business on Australia’s east coast and in China.

Mr Barnett, who is joining the company as business development executive, is managing director of New York-based investment company Pearllargo, which has established a charity initiative with Michael Jackson’s brother Jermaine Jackson.

He is also on the board of the Perth Fashion Festival.

“With Sam’s impressive entrepreneurial and philanthropic achievements, he makes the perfect addition to CPG’s team as we look to take the company to the next level in 2014,” CPG group director and founder Ryan Crawford said.

CPG, which promotes positively-geared property investment, has grown rapidly in recent years. Established in 2008, the company has offices located in Western Australia’s north west in Hedland, Karratha, Newman and Derby.

Now with its head office in Perth, the company also has a presence in Brisbane and operates a project marketing division, which provides ‘off the plan’ positive properties throughout the Pilbara and central and southern Queensland.

Plans are in place to expand into Sydney and Melbourne, the company added.

“CPG is one of the most exciting young companies currently rising up the ranks and I’m very pleased to be a part of what I believe will become one of the stars of Australian business,” said Mr Barnett.
